Rotunda’s TV celebrity chef cooks up a storm

Kingston’s Ancient Market Place was the setting for the Rotunda’s Ready Steady Cook, as flamboyant Richard Cawley visited the town to put on a mouth-watering display of culinary art.

Celebrity TV Chef Richard Cawley served up a tasty mixture of cookery and comedy when his visited Kingston. Mr Cawley presented two live cookery shows on behalf of The Rotunda at the Kingston Food Festival on Sunday.

The chef from TV’s Ready Steady Cook, was joined on stage by six lucky Rotunda competition winners who helped him prepare great tasting meals like Tex Mex Bean Soup with Sweet Corn Rolls, Italian Prosciutto-wrapped Chicken with Pesto on Soft Polenta and Steamed Fruit Pudding. Each of the ‘trainee chef’ won a £20 Rotunda voucher, Tenpin bowling game for 6 people, meal at Frangos and pair of cinema tickets.

The Rotunda’s Prize-winning assistants Nick Church and Simon Pollard thoroughly enjoyed their time. “It’s been a wonderful day,” “It was great to work with Richard, we had laugh and a bit of banter between us” said Simon “I will definitely be trying some of Richard’s recipes at home.”
“I’ve really enjoyed myself” agreed Nick” I would love the chance to be his assistant again”

As Richard left, he was full of praise for Kingston Food Festival and in particular The Rotunda for inviting him.
